PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method in which image quality does not deteriorate even when halftoning of line base tone is combined with multi-pass system printing. SOLUTION: In the image processing method, a halftone pattern is a pattern forming an oblique line basic tone at 4×4 period whereas a mask pattern determining dot arrangement order is a pattern for printing the dots of numbers 1-16 with a circle by 15 times of sub-scanning feeding from 1 pass to 16 passes at 4×4 dot period. Four dots forming the oblique basic tone line of the halftone pattern are printed by a discontinuous pass of 1 pass, 5 pass, 9 pass and 13 pass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
