<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is contrived so as to achieve prevention of degradation in image quality, caused by having a photoreceptor surface exposed to external light, while controlling the manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a case, having a switching door and an image formation part freely drawable built in: a case with the image formation part drawably built in: a switching sensor for sensing the switching; a timer for measuring the time from the opening of the case to the closing thereof; and an initialization control part that performs initialization operation, by making the capability of initialization operation of a photoreceptor, consisting of the discharge by a static eliminator and the charging increased higher by a charger to a photoreceptor, where the discharge is performed longer the measurement time with the timer is. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
