PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic tape cartridge, capable of always winding a magnetic tape in the hub of a tape reel along one flange of the tape reel as desired. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a magnetic tape cartridge by winding the magnetic tape 3 in the hub 2 of the rotated tape reel along one flange 4b of the tape reel 1 is constructed in such a manner that during the steady conveyance of the magnetic tape at a roughly constant speed, the magnetic tape is fed toward almost the center of the hub of the tape reel while regulating the traveling position of the tape reel of the magnetic tape in an axial direction by a magnetic tape position regulating member 5, and when the conveying speed of the magnetic tape is reduced, after the passage of predetermined timeΔT from the reduction of the conveying speed of the magnetic tape, the magnetic tape position regulating member 5 is moved toward one flange of the tape reel along the axial direction of the tape reel by a magnetic tape position regulating member driving means 6.
