PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an odor generator for reporting occurrence of fire to a hearing-impaired person by odor (smell), capable of reporting fire through a simple structure without a complicated sensing function. SOLUTION: This odor generator includes an odorous liquid storage part storing an odorous liquid, a blow-off part communicating with one side of the storage part and blowing off the odorous liquid, and a pyrotechnic igniter communicating with the other side of the storage part and generating a gas pressure for pushing out the odorous liquid from the storage part. The storage part, the blow-off part and the pyrotechnic igniter are stored in a casing having a passage guiding the gas pressure generated in the igniter to the storage part. Otherwise, the storage part is hermetically stored in a connecting member, and the igniter and the blow-off part are hermetically fitted to one side and the other side thereof, respectively.
