PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety, formation at low costs, and convenience by the non-contact detection of the operating state of electronic devices from the outside. SOLUTION: A detection part of an apparatus of this invention for detecting the operating state of electronic devices is pinched between power cords and signal wires connected to an electronic device to detect common-mode noise which occurs when the electronic device is operating. An amplifier in the apparatus of this invention amplifies the detected common-mode noise and selects a required frequency. The common-mode noise which occurs when the electronic device is operating is compared with noise when it is not operating to detect and determine the operating state of the electronic device by the amplification, and electrical signals are output.
