<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner capable of improving its productivity. <P>SOLUTION: This indoor unit of the air conditioner comprises an indoor heat exchanger, a cross flow fan, an optional function unit 25, and a shield member 24. The indoor heat exchanger has the bent shape. The cross flow fan produces the air flow supplied into a room through the indoor heat exchanger. The optional function unit 25 is disposed at an upstream side of the indoor heat exchanger, and fixed to the indoor heat exchanger or a member integrated with the indoor heat exchanger.
