PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable digital broadcast receiver in which trouble in digital broadcast reception due to noise generated from the receiver itself can be prevented as much as possible. SOLUTION: In addition to general control of a broadcast receiver, a CPU 13 performs processing for determining the reception quality of digital broadcast wave based on an error rate received from a tuner module 2, a processing for taking one or a plurality of measures contributive to reduction (suppression) of noise generated in the receiver when the reception quality reaches a predetermined threshold, and a processing for stopping the measure when conditions for stopping the measure are satisfied.
