PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of preventing damaging of an optical disk surface or an objective lens surface during focus noncontrol in an optical disk device. SOLUTION: Based on the loading/unloading instruction or a sleep instruction of an optical disk, the optical disk is moved to the innermost peripheral position of the optical disk before the start of the loading/unloading moving operation of the optical disk or the transfer of the device to a sleep mode, and an objective lens is retreated and moved from an optical disk surface.
