PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set whether erasure processing is performed or not after confirming that in advance based upon erasure information needed to erase image information remaining in an image storage recording medium. SOLUTION: The erasure time needed to erase the remaining radiation image information is calculated from IP information supplied from an IP information read section 27 and radiation image information read by an image information read section 42, the erasure time and confirmation information regarding whether the erasure processing is performed or not are displayed at a display section 26, and when an erasure processing section 72 decides that the erasure processing is performed, the erasure processing is carried out.
