PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyepiece for an electronic viewfinder, used for a video camera, a digital camera, etc., which can have favorably long eye relief and back focus, excellent imaging performance and distortion aberration characteristics, and chromatic aberration sufficiently corrected for use and is preferentially made low-cost although the ocular has compact constitution and high magnification. SOLUTION: The eyepiece includes a positive single lens disposed in order from the pupil side and satisfies conditional inequality of 1.25<TL/f<1.36 (where TL is the distance from a first surface to an imaging surface along an optical axis (including a parallel plane part in terms of air length) and (f) is the focal length of the whole lens system).
