PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden of a person of advanced age visiting a grave in an inconvenient remote place and reduce an economical burden related to purchase of a graveyard whose price is jumping due to shortage of graveyard because a visit to the grave in the remote place of the person of advanced age is a great burden in these days when people are obliged to purchase the graveyard in the remote place due to shortage of graveyard in cities. SOLUTION: The burden of visit to grave is reduced by providing the person of advanced age unable to visit the grave in the remote place freely with an epoch-making form of memorial service for obtaining the same sense of satisfaction as a sense of daily visit to the grave by a method for providing a space for placing ashes by hollowing out a part of a stone-made memorial for house, placing a part of ashes in it, and sealing the space. A grave having a simple structure capable of dispensing with an ashes storage vessel is formed by a method for placing ashes by providing a space for placing ashes by hollowing out a part of a gravestone, filling cement after placing the ashes, and sealing the space.
