PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen an effective range of a surface area of a polar ratio (surface area of anode/surface area of cathode) of respective electrodes (namely anode and cathode) in a cation electrodeposition painting method and to assure high throwing power. SOLUTION: In the cation electrodeposition painting method using the cathode as an object to be painted, the ratio (the polar ratio=the surface area of the anode/the surface area of the cathode) of the surface area of the anode which is a counter electrode is 1/8 to 1/20 and the cation electrodeposition paint used in the cation electrodeposition painting method has a high throwing power characteristic.
