PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring type temperature indicator utilizing a melting function of a chemical substance such as oil wax by which a temperature is detected sufficiently in a room temperature atmosphere, and the temperature even in a comparatively low temperature domain below 20°C is also detected. SOLUTION: This low-temperature service coloring type temperature indicator is constituted as follows: microcapsules 5 wherein a chemical substance 10 melting at an optional set temperature and changing from solid into liquid is enclosed are put in a container 1 comprising a bottom plate 2 and a short peripheral wall 3 erected upward from the fringe; a coloring material 7 comprising a colored paper whose one surface is a coloring surface 8 is positioned over a put spot through a spacer 6 installed in the container 1 so that the coloring surface 8 is turned downward; and a transparent resin plate 9 is embedded and fixed on the upper surface of the coloring material 7 to block an upper end opening part of the container 1.
