PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope stably regulated in a bending degree by simple structure in regard to the rope used for various applications such as slings for lifting conveyed articles and ladders. SOLUTION: The rope having a plurality of outer layer members connected to one another has a polygonal or circular hollow part formed at the cross section of each of the outer layer members. An inner layer member and a slide shaft member are disposed in the hollow part, and the outer layer member and/or the inner layer member is formed of a frame body of a hard material and a net fitted to the frame body. The inner layer member to which a plurality of hard members are connected is fixed to the slide shaft member and formed to be slidable in the longitudinal direction of the outer layer member so that the rope can be freely bent when connection parts of the hard members are aligned with connection parts of the outer layer members but cannot be bent beyond a specified range when the connection parts of the hard members are displaced from the connection parts of the outer layer members.
