PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a grain lifter capable of preventing the adhesion of bran to the surface of grain especially polished rice. SOLUTION: In the grain lifter 10, when an endless belt 30 is allowed to go round (rotated in the direction shown by an arrow B) within a grain lifting column 12, the polished rice H supplied to the lower part in the grain lifting column 12 is scooped up by buckets 32 to be lifted and fed upward in the grain lifting column 12. The lifted and fed polished rice H receives centrifugal force when the buckets 32 are reversed at the upper part in the grain lifting column 12 to be thrown to a discharge cylindrical part 34. Herein, in a case that no polished rice H is accumulated in the buckets 32 on the lifting feed side, air is successively jetted in the respective buckets 32 from first and second nozzles 36 and 44 while allowing the grain lifter 10 to go round the endless belt 30 and the buckets 32 to blow off bran in the respective buckets 32. Accordingly, even if the polished rice H is subsequently lifted and fed by the buckets 32, no bran is bonded to the surface of the polished rice H.
