PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and economically exhibit a photocatalytic activity of a material obtained by firing but not by surface treatment, which is a main activation method among photocatalyst activation methods. SOLUTION: A photocatalyst-containing foamed material is produced by previously mixing a photocatalyst and raw materials. In this case, the voids form continuous pores and the light-induced hydrophilic reaction of the photocatalyst and an organic matter-inducing capability due to the physical property of the foamed material are improved to make the photocatalyst-containing foamed material usable in various fields such as water treatment, deodorization treatment, and environmental purification.
