PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which a dust collecting unit can be easily attached to and detached from the cleaner body. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner according to the present invention has the dust collecting unit detachably arranged in the mounting portion arranged in the cleaner body separating dusts from outer air took in and having a handle portion, and a locking unit separatably securing the dust collecting unit secured to the mounting portion to the cleaner body, the locking unit includes an engaging member moving between a connected position where the locking unit is engaged with the connecting groove formed in the cleaning body and a releasing position where the connection with the connecting groove is released and the button member arranged in the outer face of the dust collecting unit so as to be able to be pushed, and the dust collecting unit is unlocked and released from the cleaner body by pushing the button member to move the engaging member from the connecting position to the releasing position when a user grips the handle portion of the dust collecting unit.
