<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system and its method, which performs High Dynamic Range (HDR) image display on an image display device by simply transferring an image data including a luminance value and contrast information for the HDR image display. <P>SOLUTION: The image display system of the invention is composed of an image processing device for outputting the HDR image data and the image display device for displaying the image data in the HDR format. The image processing device comprises: a conversion processing section for creating a grayscale data by tone-mapping the image data; a correction data creating section which corrects the grayscale data and creates a correction data for restoring the HDR image data; and an output control section for outputting the grayscale data and the correction data to each different signal line. The image display device comprises: an image data reproducing section for reproducing the image data from the input grayscale data and the correction data; and an image display section for displaying the image data on the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
