<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for elucidating the functions and mutual relations of a protein group regulating the forms of mitochondria membranes or the functions of mitochondria, to provide a new protein, to provide its use, and to provide a method for regulating the functions of mitochondoria. <P>SOLUTION: The protein includes a specific amino acid sequence or an amino acid sequence having homology of at least 80% or more and has a mitochondria membrane tissue-forming ability. A method for screening an active substance for normalizing the form of mitochondria comprises adding a test substance to a cell and then measuring the change in the form of mitochondria with the test substance. The cell includes another specific amino acid sequence or an amino acid sequence having homology of at least 80% or more, lacks or excessively expresses one or more proteins selected from the group of proteins having mitochondria membrane tissue-forming abilities, or contains the proteins added to the cell, and has abnormality in the form of mitochondria. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
