PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording apparatus and information recording method, that a user can conveniently handle, in which a sufficient temporal margin can be given to the user for dealing with the lack of remaining capacity by displaying a date and time when the remaining capacity of an information recording medium reaches preset capacity. SOLUTION: On the basis of remaining capacity of an information recording medium 2002 and capacity to be consumed in the information recording medium 2002 based on set recording reservation information, a date and time estimated for the remaining capacity of the information recording medium 2002 to reach predetermined capacity is calculated and notified.
