PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a pipe portion, with air tightness inspection finished thereon, to a state allowing gas to be supplied through the pipe portion after re-connecting it to a pipe for gas supply, without executing air purge work in particular. SOLUTION: In this air tightness inspection method for a pipe, the pipe portion 2 which is an inspecting object is removed from the pipe for gas supply while gas for inspection is pressed into the pipe portion to inspect the airtightness of the pipe portion. From the pipe for gas supply, gas for supply is taken into and stored in a gas bag 13 equipped with flexibility and airtightness. The gas for supply, which is stored in the gas bag, is pressed into the pipe portion as gas for inspection while pressingly lessening the gas bag so as to provide a pressure higher than a supply pressure in the pipe for gas supply.
