PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propeller shaft supporting structure capable of precluding slipping-off of a center bearing fitted on a split shaft while the processing accuracy of the inserted part of a stopper piece for locating the center bearing in the split shaft is relieved and of reducing the number of component parts in use and the man-hours for installation. SOLUTION: The propeller shaft supporting structure includes the split shaft having segments and the center bearing 20 having an inner ring 21, in which the stopper piece 40 to abut to the end face of the inner ring 21 for locating the center bearing 20 in the axial direction is inserted to one of the segments 10B while a cover 70 supporting in axial direction that end of the stopper piece 40 on the side opposite the abutting end to the inner ring 21 is put on the shaft segment 10B, and the part where the cover 70 is put on the shaft segment 10B is together with one end of a boot 60 fastened to the shaft segment 10B by a band 64.
