PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder which can precisely convey a tray without skewing of the tray brought about owing to the fact that a paper discharge roller is prevented from being a conveyance resistance for conveying the tray, and accordingly which can obtain recording of a high image quality without image irregularities generated. SOLUTION: The recorder conveys a medium to be recorded to a recording part, while being equipped with the recording part including a recording head which carries out recording to the medium, a first conveyance means which conveys the medium, and a second conveyance means located at the lower stream side than the first conveyance means; a first conveyance path which conveys the medium supplied from a paper feeder to the recording part; and a second conveyance path of a nearly straight shape different from the first conveyance path. When a holding means which holds the medium of a different form from that of a recording sheet is conveyed by using the second conveyance path, a driving force of the second conveyance means is released.
