PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the scanning time of image data for one screen, in an image processor for calculating a characteristic quantity of a pattern consisting of connected pixels contained in image data, and accurately calculate a characteristic quantity of the pattern after scanning the image data without storing the image data. SOLUTION: While scanning image data for one screen, or until operations of a new label issuing part 32, a connection information storage part 34 and a temporary characteristic quantity update part 36 based on determination of a pixel determination part 16 are completed after reading of image data by an image input I/F part 12 and determination of image data for one screen by the pixel determination part 16, the connection information storage part 34 and the temporary characteristic quantity update part 36 store information necessary for calculating the characteristic quantity of the pattern in a calculation storage part 30. When the scanning of image data for one screen is ended, a characteristic quantity update part 38 calculates the characteristic quantity of the pattern based on the information stored in the calculation storage part 20.
