PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly precise authentication technology with respect to a face authentication technology. SOLUTION: The face information EB2 of a person to be authenticated is generated on the basis of continuously inputted face images EA2 of the person to be authenticated, the face information EB2 is used to generate an individual model GM2 about the face of the person to be authenticated, and the percentage completion of the model showing the reliability of the face information FB2 is calculated. Then, the characteristic information of the person to be authenticated acquired from the individual model GM2 and the percentage completion of the model are used to perform an authentication operation.
