PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic image development capable of maintaining charging characteristics even under high temperature, high humidity and longtime stress conditions while developing an exact secondary color or tertiary color. SOLUTION: In the toner for electrostatic image development comprising a core layer containing a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent and a shell layer covering the surface of the core layer, the colorant contains at least two of yellow, cyan and magenta colorants and the proportion of the colorant present in a region within 200 nm from the outermost surface of the toner is confined to≤10%, whereby the objective toner for electrostatic image development can be provided which is so excellent in long-life performance that it can maintain charging characteristics even under high temperature, high humidity and longtime stress conditions while developing an exact secondary color or tertiary color.
