<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress possibility of forcing inconvenience upon a user as the result of reduction in panel visibility or operability. <P>SOLUTION: A panel 90 having an installation surface 90a comprising operating keys that a user can operate and a liquid crystal display screen for displaying an error message or the like has a regulation surface 90b protruding above a document cover 84 when using an ADF 100, and facing a document G ejected from the ADF 100.
