摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material for an electrolytic capacitor having high capacitance that is not available in conventional materials. SOLUTION: In this electrode material for an electrolytic capacitor, a valve metal particle layer, having an oxide film on its surface, is formed on the surface of a base material so that its porosity is 20-60%, a specific surface area is 20×10<SP>3</SP>to 70×10<SP>3</SP>cm<SP>2</SP>/cm<SP>3</SP>and the valve metal particles of an average particle size of not less than 0.2μm are contained. The valve metal is aluminum, and Al/O composition ratio of the valve metal particle layer having the oxide film on the surface is 2.0-125, and the material has a high capacitance.
