PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly accurate focus control even when an object of low contrast is imaged by an image of high resolution. SOLUTION: Optical equipment has an extraction means 115 for extracting a plurality of focus signals by mutually different extraction characteristics from an image signal generated by imaging, and a selection means 114 for selecting the focus signal of a prescribed signal out of the plurality of the focus signals as a first focus signal used for focus control.
