PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture recording device which can maintain an image recording position and a maintenance position to a proper recording head with a simple configuration by eliminating effects even if distortion in an apparatus frame or an unevenness component precision is generated. SOLUTION: A roller 36b-1 of the end of a platen support 36b which performs rising and falling of a platen part 30 having a conveying mechanism is supported elastically by a compression spring used as an elastic member. At the maintenance position, a maintenance part 60 is raised in superposition on the platen part 30 elastically biased by the set ability of a compression spring 100, and supported by immobility (elastic power bias immobility condition), at the upper image recording position, a compression spring is contracted by a load which is made to bring into contact with an image recording mechanism 20 and exceeds set capability, (elastic power bias movable condition) supported by movability to constitute an image forming apparatus. Thereby, the proper operation of a maintenance unit 61 is not disturbed at the maintenance position without the operation of the elasticity, and at the recording position, a recording medium on the image recording mechanism 20, and a conveyance mechanism provides proper spacing.
