PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic image development having stable color reproducibility with respect to a secondary color of a halftone. SOLUTION: In the toner containing a binder resin and a colorant, the colorant contains an acid dye and the relation between the content A of the acid dye in the toner and the amount B of the residual catalyst in the toner is confined to a specific range, whereby the objective toner for electrostatic image development having stable color reproducibility with respect to a secondary color of a halftone can be provided.
