PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve ununiformity in the temperature distribution of a fixing nip part, to improve fixing performance and the picture quality of a color image and to attain high-speed fixing by reducing temperature irregularity on the surface of a heating part which is caused by the structure or the like of a heat source in a heating means. SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 1 is provided with a fixing part 10, a pressure part 20 and a heating means 30. The fixing part 10 is provided with a fixing roller 11 being a fixing member, and the pressure part 20 is provided with a pressure roller 21 being a pressing member. The heating means 30 is provided with a halogen lamp 35 being a heat source, a radiation heat transmission body composed of a core bar 32 and a radiation energy absorbing material 33, and a surface processing part 34. Since the heat conductivity of the surface processing part 34 is changed in accordance with the density of radiation energy applied to the radiation heat transmission body, temperature irregularity on the surface of a heat roller 31 is reduced, the temperature of the fixing nip part N is included in the range of a fixing temperature area in which suitable fixing can be performed, and the fixing can be stabilized.
