PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory charging properties by holding a charging roll and its cleaning member with high relative position precision, using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A support part 14a of a charging roll 14 which charges a photoreceptor drum 12 and a support part 100a of a sponge member 100 which cleans the charging roll 14 are supported directly by a single bearing member 110, which is energized toward the photoreceptor drum 12 by a helical compression spring 128 to press the charging roll 14 against the photoreceptor drum 12. Components supporting the charging roll 14 and sponge member 100 are less affected by the variations to be improved in relative positional accuracy, and the variance in the load for the sponge member 100 on the charging roll 14 is suppressed, to improve the followability with respect to the photoreceptor drum 12, thereby improving the of chargability of the photoreceptor drum 12 by the charging roll 14.
