PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure fuel pump with a reduced number of components and man-hours for mounting operation. SOLUTION: A pump housing 40 is composed of a cylinder 42, a tappet guide 44, a flange 46, a solenoid valve supporting part 48, an intake part 50, and a discharge part 70, and is integrally formed by casting a steel material such as stainless steel. The pump housing 40 is formed to have a thickness of 0.5mm or more to endure pressure of low pressure fuel of several hundreds kPa and high pressure fuel of several tens to several hundreds Mpa. Fuel sucked into a compression chamber 100 is pressurized by a plunger 20 reciprocatably supported by the cylinder 42 reciprocating accompanying rotation of a pump cam. A solenoid valve 80 is an adjusting valve for adjusting a fuel discharge amount discharged from the discharge part 70 by controlling excitation timing to a coil 96. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
