PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening structure and a greening method capable of contributing to the global warming prevention and the relaxation of a heat island phenomenon in city section. SOLUTION: The greening structure or the like is equipped with a roof-like cover 3 installed in a space opened upward, a holding means of a column 4 or the like holding the cover 3 in the space and greening equipment 5 installed on the cover 3. The greening equipment 5 can be formed in anywhere if the space is opened upward, and since most part of the city section can be aimed at greening not only the roof etc. of the conventional building, effectiveness of the global warming prevention or the like is large. Specially, the greening structure is installed in a grave yard 1 wherein a large number of gravestones 2 getting hot in summertime can be arranged to expect large effects. As the space opened upward, for example, a station, bridge, stadium site, railroad track of a railway or a streetcar, platform or stop without a roof or moat and river, etc. are included other than the grave yard 1.
