PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for an apparatus, uniform in the appearance and having strength without separation of outer frames according to presence or non-presence of a liquid crystal display (LCD). SOLUTION: The display device for the apparatus is provided with the outer frame 21 having a display window 23 for the LCD, a circuit board 27, a holder 28 for holding the circuit board 27 and fixed onto the frame 21, a window cover 25 of the window 23 and a display panel 33. A step difference part 24 for placing a window cover 25 is provided on the window 23. Bosses 30 are provided on the cover 25. A gap 32 between the front ends of the bosses 30 and the holder 28 is generated on placing of the cover 25 onto the difference part 24. Thereby in the apparatus with specifications devoid of a liquid crystal display, bringing the front ends of the bosses 30 into contact with the holder 28 makes the panel 33 not unstable even when a force is applied to the cover 25, thereby allowing the display device to be uniform in the appearance and strong without separation of the outer frames 21 depending upon the presence or no presence of a liquid crystal display.
