PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously aspirate sputum at a low aspiration flow rate, prevent the leak of inspiration of an artificial respirator in a regular use state, give no adverse effect to the respiration, eliminate any possibility of injuring the tracheal inner wall by the aspiration from an aspiration catheter inserted in the trachea, and secure safety of a patient by detecting and notifying abnormality when aspirating automatically. SOLUTION: This intra-tracheal sputum aspirating apparatus is provided with the aspiration catheter in the trachea of a patient and a collecting container for collecting the sputum; and is so formed that a pump means generating a negative pressure and the collecting container are communicated with each other via a hose, the aspiration catheter and the pump means are communicated via the collecting container. The apparatus is further provided with a tracheal cannula adopts a syringe pump type with low aspiration flow rate as a sputum aspirator, the opening pressure of an intake valve and an exhaust valve of the syringe type pump is set to 20 kpa or more, and a narrowed part is provided in a part of the aspiration passage to constantly measure the pressure width of the aspiration passage.
