摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated by gears when meshing a pair of gears with each other and to reduce an error in rotation transmission. SOLUTION: The gear G<SB>1</SB>is provided with a plurality of teeth 1 meshed with teeth of the mating gear to transmit rotational motion, wherein a predetermined region A in at least one tooth flank 7 of each tooth 1 is formed in such a shape that meshing with the tooth of the mating gear is started with point contact or line contact shorter than the total tooth width in at least one part in a tooth width direction at an intersection part 8 between the tooth flank 7 and a tooth tip surface 3, and thereafter, is gradually shifted to the line contact so that the length of the contact line 10 is sequentially increased as the line contact moves from the tooth tip surface 3 side toward the tooth root side.
