PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a side information data amount by scanning in a page horizontal direction to further improve efficiency of processing for performing processing an image while horizontally extracting side information in scanning line units. SOLUTION: This image processing method is a processing method for performing hidden line processing to the image by a page description language or an intermediate language generated therefrom while horizontally extracting the side information of an object in the scanning line units. The image processing method has: a process for rotating the image such that a hatching line becomes horizontal when a hatching object is present, and processing it; and a process for restoring the rotation of the image, and outputting it.
