PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, with which toner adhesion to a toner stirring conveyance member, such as a toner stirring spiral in the developing device is reduced and high image quality is obtained stably, even when printing is repeated ever a long time in a high-speed system. SOLUTION: The developing device, having an stirring conveyance means for conveying toner to a developer carrier is provided with a means for impressing a voltage with reverse polarity to conveyance toner to the stirring conveyance means for a prescribed time interval, when the toner larger than a prescribed amount is not replenished to the agitation conveyance means, even when the developer carrier and the stirring conveyance member are driven for the prescribed time, or when the average of printing ratio is at a prescribed value or smaller.
