PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation technology of a high rigidity direct drive motor exhibiting excellent heat dissipation in which precision of the motor output shaft is high. SOLUTION: In the installation method of a direct drive motor comprising an annular base 4 which is secured while butting the bottom face 4s entirely against the fixed face 2s of a pedestal 2, a rotator 6 supported rotatably for the base and having a surface 6s for fixing various workpieces, and a motor 8 incorporated between the base and the rotator and rotating the rotator in a predetermined direction wherein the bottom face of the base has such a convex shape as at least a portion thereof is projecting from other part toward the fixed surface of the pedestal, the workpiece fixing surface of the rotator is ground by means of a grinding member 28 driven through a DD motor secured to the pedestal and set in parallel with the fixed surface of the pedestal.
