PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which makes high-quality recording by solving a dimensional tolerance gap in a tray by a simple constitution and a simple control at a low cost. SOLUTION: The recorder which makes records to a material to be recorded by a recording means is equipped with the tray loaded in the recorder while carrying the material, a conveyance means which conveys the tray, a tray position detection means set on the tray so as to detect a position of the tray and to estimate a position of the material, a removable material position detection means which can be set by using a similar means to the material, and a tray position detecting means which detects the detection means. A positional relationship between the tray position detection means and the material position detection means is detected before working of recording. Only the tray position is detected in working of recording by the tray position detection means. The recorder correctly estimates the position of the material from the positional relationship.
