<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of quickly and readily erasing images (including characters) formed on a printing material by low cost and a reproduction method of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the erasure method of the images, the images formed on the recoding medium by applying an ink containing a pigment are erased by exposure to an oxidizing gas generated by discharge.
