PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To view the continuation of contents continuously when interruption occurs during the viewing of the contents in a portable device.

SOLUTION: A portable reproducing device A requests a recorder B that power should be turned on via a network 71. The recorder B turns on the power supply and transmits a power supply ON completion signal to the portable reproducing device A via the network 71. The portable reproducing device A requests the recorder B that channel reception related to a currently viewed program should be made via the network 71. The recorder B receives the program of a designated channel, and transmits the channel reception completion signal to the portable reproducing device A via the network 71. The portable reproducing device A adds an unviewed number for requesting recording start to the recorder B via the network 71. The recorder B starts the recording of the designated program, and transmits the recording start completion signal to the portable reproducing device A via the network 71, thus starting remote recording in the recorder B.
