<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discover a new activator of a PPAR to provide an external preparation for the skin, effective for prevention/amelioration of rough skin, skin inflammation and reduction of skin barrier function. <P>SOLUTION: The activator of the PPAR comprises one or more kinds of compounds selected from N-acetylcysteine, seneciphylline, sulfuretin, chalcone, resveratrol, ceramide, oleuropein, magnolol, silybin and phloretin as an active ingredient. The external composition for the skin contains the compounds as active ingredients. The activator of the PPAR has excellent PPAR β/δ activating activity, and the external composition for the skin containing the activator as the active ingredient is effective for prevention/amelioration of the rough skin, the skin inflammation and the reduction of the skin barrier function. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
