PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio system capable of monitoring a reproduction sound even when an acoustic reproducing apparatus transmits acoustic signal data to a recording apparatus for the purpose of dubbing from a headphone terminal of the acoustic reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: In the audio system 1 wherein the acoustic reproducing apparatus 2 and the recording apparatus 3 are interconnected by a removable communication cable 4 and the recording apparatus 3 records an acoustic signal, transmitted from the acoustic reproducing apparatus 2 to the recording apparatus 3 via the communication cable 4, to a prescribed acoustic signal storage section 34, the recording apparatus 3 includes a connection signal transmission section 31 for supplying a connection signal to the acoustic reproducing apparatus 2, the connection signal denoting that the recording apparatus 3 is connected to the acoustic reproducing apparatus 2 via the communication cable 4, and the acoustic reproducing apparatus 2 includes: a speaker terminal 26T to which a speaker for outputting reproduction sound is connected; a connection signal reception section 23 for detecting the connection signal; and a selector 24 for outputting the acoustic signal to the speaker terminal 26T when the connection signal reception section 23 detects the connection signal.
