PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high color temperature in white color display by balancing the amount of emission of each color even without any adjustment by a drive circuit in a PDP. SOLUTION: In Fig. 7(a), the groove width of grooves 601a, 601b formed on a dielectric layer 106 is set so that it becomes larger in the order of a red discharge cell 202R, a green one 202G, and a blue one 202B. In Fig. 7(b), the area of island-shaped recesses 602a, 602b is set so that it becomes larger in the order of the red discharge cell 202R, the green one 202G, and the blue one 202B.
