PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sufficient strength for an intermediate gear and suppress enlargement of a power transmission device in its axial direction. SOLUTION: The power transmission device consists of an input helical gear 3, the intermediate helical gear 5 for meshing with it and an output helical gear 7 for meshing with the intermediate helical gear 5. A facewidth 9 of the intermediate helical gear 5 is thicker than facewidths 11, 13 of the input helical gear 3 and the output helical gear 7. A meshing part of the input helical gear 3 and the intermediate helical gear 5 and an engaging part of the intermediate helical gear 5 and the output helical gear 7 are offset in the axial direction.
