PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out installation work of a grating bouncing preventing fixture which is to be fixed to the internal wall surfaces of an existing side ditch, and to facilitate fixture of the same to the side-ditch internal walls. SOLUTION: The grating bouncing preventing fixture is formed of a support rod member 1, which is fixed to the mutually opposed internal wall surfaces of the side ditch A by inserting distal ends thereof into holes a bored in the wall surfaces, and pressing the wall surfaces by a washer nut 111 screwed onto a screw portion formed on a periphery of the distal end, to thereby fix the rod member, or inserted and fixed into the holes, by interposing an extendable screw rod connection portion (nut shaft 121) at an intermediate portion of the support rod, or inserted into the holes by employing both the washer nut and the screw rod connection portion. Then a fixing bracket member 2 is connected temporarily to a twin screw rod portion 12 of the support rod member 1, and after the support rod member 1 is propped up, the fixing bracket member is fixed to the mutually facing surfaces by tightly fastening a fixing nut 123, to thereby mount an engaging member 3 between the fixed fixing bracket member and a cover body (grating B).
