PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a recording device recordable even in a thick and rigid paper recording medium such as a CD-R and DVD, particularly a recording device incorporating an automatically double-side printing mechanism or installable optionally. SOLUTION: This recording device comprises a recording means recording in accordance with image information while the recording medium such as a CD-R, a DVD, and a card is mounted on a tray, a feed roller drivingly rotated to carry the tray, and pinch rollers biasing the tray against the carrying roller to drivingly rotate the tray and arranged in the lateral direction. One or more cutouts are formed at the end of the tray in the carrying direction. The bottom side of the cutout is formed at the position allowing the pair of carrying rollers to pass therethrough while the recording medium is recorded by the recording medium. The cutouts of the pinch rollers and the tray are disposed so that a part of the pinch rollers applied to the carrying area of the tray bias the area in which the tray is not cutout at least in the lateral direction.
